A new operations facility in Dammam has been officially inaugurated at King Fahad International Airport (KFIA) under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud Bin Naif Bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and the President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation, Soliman Al Hamdan.

It will be partly utilised by EIRAD Trading & Contracting Co. Ltd. which is the authorised service contractor for UPS in Saudi Arabia.

The new Cargo Village at KFIA facilitates package and clearance operations and positions the airport – one of the fastest growing in the region – as a multi-modal shipment and clearance destination directly serving the Eastern Province and the Kingdom.

The new facility offers direct access to Saudi Arabia and bypasses the need for cargo to trans-ship through neighboring countries.

EIRAD Trading & Contracting Co. Ltd. operates a 5,000-square-metre terminal at the Cargo Village, supporting the Kingdom’s connection to global markets.

The terminal will handle both air and ground shipments being imported into the country, and the upgraded facility has reduced shipping times and increased cargo capacity, promising operating efficiencies, enhanced visibility, and faster clearance.

The announcement reinforces UPS’s long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia.

EIRAD’s operations in the Kingdom include 10,000 square metres of warehouse space, ten facilities, a domestic delivery network to more than 200 cities in the country, as well as connection to UPS’s global network serving over 220 countries and territories worldwide.

“We are honoured to be able to commit to this world-class facility. Our continuing partnership with EIRAD will see our international expertise in logistics and supply chain management benefit both individual customers and businesses across the Kingdom,” said Jean-Francois Condamine, president of the Indian Sub-continent, Middle East and Africa District for UPS.

He added: “Service and reliability are at the heart of UPS operations around the world, and our partnership with EIRAD gives us great potential for further growth and investment in Saudi Arabia and the broader region.”

Ali Akram Al Sayed, country manager of EIRAD in Saudi Arabia commented: “This has been a remarkable achievement for the EIRAD team and delivers on our strong commitment and vision of growth in the Kingdom.

“We will continue to navigate our business to success in future. We still continue to provide the best in service quality, reliability and value for our customers.”
