SirajPower has announced the installation of a solar power plant on the premises of RSA-TALKE, the chemicals-focused subsidiary of RSA Global.

The installation is located on the rooftop of RSA-TALKE’s non-dangerous goods chemical facility in Dubai South. It is the fourth solar power plant installed by SirajPower on a RSA Global building since the signature of the fully financed leasing scheme two years ago, which at the time made RSA the first to go solar in Dubai South.

The new agreement with SirajPower includes the installation, financing and operation of a 1 MWp PV system on RSA-TALKE’s warehouses, under a 20 years leasing scheme.

The plant will cover more than 78% of electricity consumption, saving 1,100 tons of CO2 from the first year of operation.

“At RSA Global, sustainability is at the forefront of every decision we take as a business and across all our affiliates,” said Abhishek Ajay Shah, co-founder and group CEO of RSA Global. “We embarked on a green journey with SirajPower two years ago following our first solar rooftop deal, and became pioneers in our industry.”

“The successful partnership led us to working together on the installation of solar rooftops on our fourth facility. In the long run, we benefit from the decision of moving towards renewable energy; consistent savings in the electricity expenses, low maintenance costs and a greener footprint are some of the advantages we don’t take for granted,” he added.

Laurent Longuet, CEO at SirajPower said: “Our long-term partnership with RSA Global… demonstrates the value of the unique service we provide in the market and the trust our team has been able to build over the past few years.

“We see a big push towards solar in different sectors of the market including logistics. The buildings of these companies consume a lot of power, thus making an impact on their carbon footprint is becoming inevitable.

“We are grateful for the high level of engagement between both parties and delighted to continue supporting RSA Global and its affiliates solving challenges to move to a greener and more sustainable future.”

SirajPower continues to grow its portfolio in the UAE with over 50MWp leasing scheme secured across the UAE, making the company the market leader in distributed solar energy.

The company reported earlier this year being in negotiations for other projects with total capacity of approximately 100 MWp. It is also eyeing further expansion in the GCC region.
