Hapag-Lloyd raises freight rates on Middle East-US loop

Hapag-Lloyd announces general rate increase in Indian Subcontinent and Middle East services to North America.

Hapag-Lloyd will implement a General Rate Increase from the Indian Subcontinent (ISC) and Middle East to the United States and Canada effective from September 1st, 2015, the shipping company said in a press release.

The GRI will be as follows:

US $160 per 20′ standard container
US $200 per 40′ standard container (40′ x 8’6″)
US $200 per 40′ high cube container (40′ x 9’6″)
US $200 per 40′ reefer container (40′ x 9’6″)

Indian Subcontinent Origins: Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Pakistan, Chennai, Tuticorin, Cochin, Mangalore, Goa, Haldia, Kolkata, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Middle East: UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.
