Ruling by Tribunal says Djibouti acted illegally
Doraleh Container Terminal, in which DP World owns 33%, is successful in London Court of International Arbitration
The company said it would do this “in the face of Djibouti's blatant disregard for the rule of law and respect for commercial contracts.”
The development comes after PDSA attempted to terminate the joint venture agreement with DP World for the management of the Doraleh Container Terminal. The government of Djibouti has claimed the terms of the agreement were unfair.
These developments come several months after tensions between Djibouti and DP World over the terms of the concession agreement came to a head with Djibouti seizing control of Doraleh Container Terminal.
DP World has denied media reports that the company is looking for an out-of-court settlement in its dispute with the Djiboutian government over Doraleh Container Terminal.
