The Green Aviation Logistics Group ME, in association with the Foreign Investment Office, an agency of the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), has announced plans to host the first Green Transportation and Logistics Summit (GTLS) next year.
The two-day summit, which takes place at the Aviation Club in Dubai on 23rd-24th February 2011, will provide transportation, logistics and supply chain professionals the opportunity to learn about the processes and technologies that can be implemented to measure and reduce carbon footprint, save energy, comply with environmental regulations, environmentally manage suppliers and partners and achieve a sustainable transport network.
“This event reinforces the importance of the logistics sector to drive economic development in Dubai. As one of the fastest growing sectors, it is imperative that green technologies are initiated and sustained for an environmentally sustainable logistics sector,” said His Excellency Sami Al Qamzi, director general, DED.
“With an impressive list of speakers and panelists, the summit will provide thought-provoking presentations and discussions that will help logistics professionals to succeed in the ever-changing operating environment,” he added.
