ATS Technic’s game-changing hangar at Al Maktoum

In partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, ATS Technic's new facility aims to meet the growing demand for MRO services in the region

ATS Technic has officially announced the launch of its state-of-the-art base maintenance hangar at Al Maktoum International Airport.

ATS Technic, the UAE’s leading independent EASA-certified provider of aircraft line maintenance and logistics services, has officially announced the launch of its state-of-the-art base maintenance hangar at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

The project, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), marks a significant step forward for the region’s aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector.

Growing demand for MRO services

Scheduled for completion by mid-2025, the new hangar will span 15,000 square metres and will be equipped to provide EASA Part 145-approved services, including specialised cabin upgrades and tailored refurbishment solutions for commercial aircraft.

The facility will have the capacity to handle multiple narrow-body aircraft simultaneously, addressing the increasing demand for high-quality MRO services across the Middle East.

The hangar’s design aligns with LEED certification standards, highlighting ATS Technic’s commitment to sustainability.

As the first aluminium-based hangar in the UAE, it will reduce construction-related carbon emissions by up to 60% compared to traditional steel structures.

This approach incorporates lightweight aluminium, recycled materials, and low-carbon construction techniques, helping to minimise environmental impact while maximising operational efficiency.

Strategic partnership with MBRAH

In line with the UAE’s vision to enhance its global aviation infrastructure, the hangar will cater to the growing market demand for MRO services, enabling faster, more efficient maintenance operations that will benefit airlines across the region.

Mahdi Altahaineh, CEO of ATS Technic, said, “This facility will significantly expand our capacity and further position ATS Technic as a key player in supporting the UAE’s growth as an international aviation hub.”

The collaboration with MBRAH strengthens Dubai South’s position as a global aviation hub.

Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, added, “This partnership underlines our position in attracting the top players in the aviation sector to establish their presence at Dubai South and operate in an integrated economic environment where they can connect with international markets. We will spare no effort in supporting ATS’ expansion endeavours, which align with our mandate to solidify and cement Dubai’s position on the world aviation map.”
