A Kuwait Airways A340-300 made an emergency landing in Muscat on December 24 after smoke appeared from underneath a passenger seat, according to the Aviation Herald web site.
The plane, on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Kuwait, landed safely in Muscat.
Technicians pinpointed the source of the problem, repaired it and the flight was rescheduled.
The plane eventually reached Kuwait 17.5 hours late.
