Lufthansa is providing technical expertise to NAS.

National Air Services, a KSA-based aviation group, has signed a ten-year maintenance agreement with Lufthansa Technik.

Lufthansa Technik will provide engine and component maintenance services to the NAS fleet and will provide engineering and technical assistance to NAS Tech, the new maintenance arm of NAS.

A contract ratifying the deal was signed by Sulaiman Al-Hamdan, CEO of NAS Group, and August Wilhelm Henningsen, chairman of the executive board of Lufthansa Technik AG.

“Over the past years we have developed an intensive and trustful partnership with NAS,” said Henningsen.

“The new strategic agreement is a logical step to enhance the cooperation to the benefit of both companies. This long-term contract will establish state-of-the-art technical services in one of the most important growth markets of the region.”

NAS is currently establishing maintenance facilities at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. NAS plans to offer third party maintenance services to local airlines once it has sufficient expertise.

National Air Services Group (NAS) was established in 1999. It runs a fractional jet ownership programme and operates KSA’s one surviving low cost carrier.
