Electronic business is radically transforming the logistics sector, not only helping to significantly improve efficiency, but also strengthen the UAE as a global logistics hub.
A recent report entitled “Doing Business” released by The World Bank ranked the UAE the 3rd best country in the world for enabling trading across borders.
Dubai Trade’s online portal is playing a significant role in streamlining the efficiency of the logistics sector in the UAE.
Mr Al Muallem Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region said: “The dynamic portal created by Dubai Trade has contributed measurably to the growth of trade and sharpened the global competitive edge of the UAE as a whole”.
The portal’s significant growth over the past two years reflects its growing popularity amongst trading companies.
Over 11.4 million transactions were conducted through its portal last year, a 26% increase compared to the transactions recorded in 2009.
