China's Masteel opens Middle East office in Dubai's Jafza

Chinese metals manufacturer to use Jafza office as export market for various types of iron and steel products

Chinese manufacturer Maanshan Iron and Steel Co (Masteel) has formally established Masteel Middle East in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), reports Construction Week Online.

The organisation is expected to expand the company's export market for hot-rolled, section, and cold-rolled steel, as well as pre-painted galvanised iron and galvanised iron products.

The office was inaugurated in the presence of DP World's chief operating officer for Parks and Zones in the UAE, Ahmad Al Haddad, and general manager of Maanshan Iron and Steel Co, Qian Haifan.

Commenting on the facility's launch, chief executive officer and managing director of DP World's UAE Region business, and CEO of Jafza, Mohammed Al Muallem, said: "On behalf of DP World, we congratulate our valued partner Masteel on its success.

"We look forward to this exciting chapter that will build stronger trade ties between our two countries for mutual prosperity for our people.

"The inauguration of this new facility is a testament to Jafza's value proposition for large companies and reflects our position as a leading driver of economic diversification."

According to UAE state news agency, Wam, Masteel's Haifan added: "In recent years by taking inspiration from the Belt and Road initiative and the globalisation of China, Masteel has focused on promoting the progress of its international operations."
