What do you think are the main challenges facing the logistics industry in 2018?
Logistics companies face strategic challenges in their growth path whether its process streamlining or formulating future goals. Threat of disruption and failure are making deployment of digital technologies an imperative for the smooth functioning of business and to drive business performance improvement goals. New supply chain technology can power up existing operations, streamline inventory, and increase revenue, if implemented correctly.
What are the main topics you expect to come up at the Leaders in Logistics Summit?
Digital as a pivotal force in business transformation and untapped potential for Supply Chain Technology in GCC. Studying the impact and staying in tune with how technology, such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, 5G, Cloud and IoT, is changing the reality of logistics.
What are the latest product/service launches from your company?
We have launch a chemical joint venture in the UAE called Hellmann Indu Chemical, we have launched labelling operations as a value added service for contract logistics in UAE and KSA in Jebel Jais, and we have launched the NextGen ‘Gateway SEA’.
NextGen ‘Gateway SEA’ is a new operational project enabling better management of sea freight LCL shipments in Dubai. Then there is Hellmann MAS Supply Chain, the new Joint Venture that provides contract logistics and Fourth Party Logistics (4PL) services in Sri Lanka.
What other news can we expect from your company in 2018/2019?
Hellmann is planning further expansion within the Middle East and North Africa by opening new entities through Joint Venture or greenfield. We plan to create an integrated E-commerce product for the Middle East and will also be expanding our Value Added Services portfolio in Contract Logistics.
