Swisslog appoints partners in Middle East
United Service Products (USP) has secured a contract to represent Swisslog in the Middle East and market the company's automated warehousing solutions to customers throughout the region.
The partnership was confirmed last month, when representatives from both companies signed an official contract at the global headquarters of Swisslog in Switzerland.
"We have been appointed as the exclusive agent in the Middle East and will manage Swisslog's sales and service activities on a long term basis," confirmed Reinhard Wind, managing director of USP.
"In the past 40 years, Swisslog has installed approximately 2000 automation solutions around the world. We're proud to bring this wealth of experience to the Middle East and will be targeting a range of different industries, including companies in the logistics, retail and automotive sectors."
USP initially plans to concentrate on the Dubai market, although it will eventually diversify into a number of other countries in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
"The market for automated warehousing is ready to explode in this region, especially with the increasing costs for labour and construction," added Wind.
"In particular, the opportunities in Dubai are very exciting and the emirate continues to establish itself as the regional hub for warehousing and distribution activities. However, we are definitely interested in other Middle Eastern markets and plan to establish our operations in these countries too."
