 Drydocks World & Maritime World has announced its participation in Careers UAE, to highlight the tremendous employment potential, the major career opportunities and its established reputation as a preferred employer for local nationals.

The three-day exhibition, which kicks-off tomorrow, is being organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The Group is geared towards bringing qualified and competent nationals into the organisation, identifying high performing nationals within the existing workforce and putting in place plans to provide growth opportunities for them.

According to His Excellency Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World & Maritime World, the organisation is strongly committed to take forward the vision of the UAE leaders in ensuring the development of the national workforce.

“We encourage UAE nationals to work in the sector and gain international experience by working on challenging projects of great global significance. There is the added advantage of a work environment that stimulates innovation, team spirit, engagement and achievement. We have therefore adopted an aggressive and multi-disciplined Emiratisation strategy based on our long-term plans to recruit, train, develop and integrate UAE nationals at all levels in our business. Our participation will highlight the significant features of the organisation from the employment and talent management perspective,” Buamim said.

The senior leadership team at Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City provides extensive encouragement and support to competent, committed and qualified nationals.

The initiatives which include a dedicated online national’s recruitment portal, formal development and career plans for professional development, the Future Leader Program, focused induction and training plans to find creative and competent employees, are handled in close coordination with the business functions of the company.

In addition, close relationships are maintained with key tertiary level institutions to identify nationals with relevant skills for internship opportunities geared towards future employment and also for the recruitment of fresh graduates.
