Phase One of Jafza's $680m conference centre complete
Jafza has completed phase one of a new convention centre complex, it announced yesterday.
The JafzaOne Convention Centre Complex, which is now ready to be leased to customers, is expected to be fully completed in December of 2014.
The facility is being built at a cost of Dh2.5 billion ($680m) and will be a self contained business hub, spread across 72,700 sq metres. It will comprise two 34-floor twin towers rising 138 metres above ground level. In addition, it will contain a 320-room hotel, a 606-seat auditorium, a 1000sq metre banquet hall, 22 meeting and conference rooms, a 1500sq metre exhibition centre and parking space for 4000 vehicles.
“Since its launch in 1985, Jafza has progressed on the path of excellence in creating an unparalleled business and logistics hub. Today, it is part of a unique sea-land-air link within a single custom bonded area. Our state of the art Convention Centre Complex JafzaOne is another step on that path of excellence,” said Salma Ali Saif bin Hareb, CEO of Economic Zones World and Jafza.
“Our aim in designing the Complex was to combine all elements of a successful business eco-system under one roof and to let our customers have all their business and leisure needs met in a single location,” she added.
