As part of its on-going commitment to the Middle East, A.T. Kearney, the global management consulting firm, has appointed Salvador Zarate as a partner in its Dubai office.

This comes in line with the firm’s growth plan globally, with the recent addition of 16 new partners during the first half of 2013.

With a strong focus on transport, aviation, travel and infrastructure, Zarate joined A.T. Kearney in 2001 and has since built solid experience in these sectors across Europe.

He has worked closely with port authorities, port terminal operators, shipping companies, railway operators, airlines, infrastructure, and travel companies on a broad range of topics, including corporate and business strategy, post-merger integration, strategic pricing, efficiency improvement and regulatory issues.

He is also one of A.T. Kearney’s specialists in supply chain optimisation, having helped clients in the consumer goods, pharmaceutical, energy and natural resources industries to improve their logistics models.

Dan Starta, managing partner of A.T. Kearney Middle East & Africa, said: “A.T. Kearney has been in the Middle East for more than 35 years and the recent addition to our management team is indicative of our on-going commitment to this region and our clients.

“We are delighted to further strengthen the team with Salvador’s appointment and utilize his expertise in our TTI practice to provide significant opportunities for businesses to develop in the region.”

Globally, A.T. Kearney has grown its partner ranks, revenue and global footprint by one third each since 2006. Ten of these new partners joined the firm from other consulting firms or from leadership positions with companies in their industry of specialisation. A.T. Kearney now has 289 partners located in 57 offices around the world.

Johan Aurik, A.T. Kearney’s managing partner and chairman of the board, added: “The first half of 2013 was an exciting time for our firm as we announced Vision 2020 and our ambitions to become the most admired global full-service management consulting firm, distinguished by our culture and how we work.

“One key to achieving this ambition is continuing to attract new partners and consultants who recognise our distinctive culture and the way it influences the way we work with our clients to produce immediate impact and long-term growing advantage.

“The consistent growth of our partnership reflects the continued strength and vibrancy of our firm.”
