Five reasons why you should visit Materials Handling ME
The not-to-be missed Materials Handling Middle East show is making a return this year, bringing the biggest players in the sector to Dubai from the 10th to the 12th of September. According to estimates by analysts Frost & Sullivan, the UAE logistics industry is expected to be worth Dh36.95 billion (US$ 10.06 billion) by 2015.
Frost & Sullivan’s estimate indicates that the freight forwarding segment brought in the bulk of the Dh37bn revenue at around 63.1%, supported by heavy demand from customers in the oil and gas, engineering, and the food and beverage sectors.
Transportation was the second highest contributor at 18.6%, with road transportation the dominant contributor in this segment. The final two contributors to the logistics revenue, according to Frost & Sullivan, were warehousing at 14.2% and value-added logistics services (VALS), such as packaging and labelling, at 4.1%.
Logistics Middle East gives you five reasons why you should attend the event:
1. Stay abreast of industry trends
A conference will be held in association with SCLG (Supply Chain and Logistics Group), and run alongside the exhibition on the 11th and 12th. The conference sets out to deliver valuable insights into the most recent trends, technologies and innovations that the materials handling and logistics industry has to offer. Various panel discussions will be held with plenty of Q&A
2. Check out the German Pavilion
Known for high quality ‘Made in Germany’ products, the German Pavilion, which is five times bigger than it was in 2011, is reason enough for attending the exhibition. Meet some of the leading players in the field, right here in Dubai, including Euroroll Beckmann, Schenker Deutschland, SSI Schaefer, Unitechnik Cieplik & Poppek AG, and the VDMA.
Euroroll, for example, has been active in the region for about ten years now. They will showcase products such as gravity roller conveyors and roller tracks for packages weighing from 10 to 1500 kg.
“The UAE is an important location for logistics companies and will be characterised by a significant increase in demand over the coming years,” said Theo Einhäuser, CEO EUROROLL Beckmann GmbH & Co. KG.
Unitechnik specialises in turnkey logistics systems in the fields of distribution, production and airport technology and has played a key role already in Dubai Flower Centre, Al Maktoum International Airport and at the logistics centre of Integrated National Logistics. The firm was also the winner of the Highly Commended for ‘Technology Solutions Provider of the Year’ Award at the SCATAs.
“We have been taking part in the Materials Handling Middle East fair since 2007. For us, it is the most important intra-logistics event in the Middle East and gives us the opportunity to cultivate our customer relationships and make new contacts,” said Wolfgang Cieplik of Unitechnik Cieplik & Poppek AG.
