McKenna appointed by Harris Pye Group
The Harris Pye Group has recruited Stephen McKenna as its new group insulation manager.
After being a Harris Pye subcontractor for many years and acting as a project manager on several occasions he now joins the organisation as a full-time employee based in the Gulf.
His wealth of insulation services to the marine industry dates back to 1982 when his career began as a thermal insulation engineer. Starting in his family-owned and operated company allowed for exposure to various roles leading to his ascent to managing director.
His knowledge covers a myriad of elements: “My expertise ranges from structural fire protection, thermal, acoustic and cold store insulation along with SFP surveys and fire damper knowledge.”
McKenna has been involved in every type of vessel - from fishing to cruise liners; LNG to military as well as oil rigs. He has installed all of the above services to many of the major shipping, offshore, shipbuilding and ship repair yards globally in his expansive 32-year career.
Products now offered include A15, A30 and A60 to steel and aluminium, H60 and H120 to steel, A60 floating decks, all thermal insulation applications for marine and industrial; manufacturing of high temperature exhaust insulation; SFP surveys to all class of vessels; sheet metal fabrication and installation; fire damper surveys, repair and installation; HVAC installations and heat shield manufacturing and installation.
His experience will serve as an enhancement to Harris Pye’s already extensive repertoire with the addition of the aforementioned now in-house service and products.
