Dubai-based low-cost airline flydubai on Wednesday announced it is to launch business class services across its network of 60 destinations.

The airline will receive delivery of the first aircraft with a business class cabin in August. All new aircraft subsequently delivered will include business and economy classes.

Business class tickets will be available for purchase on selected flights from August, and the inaugural flight is scheduled to take off in October, the carrier said in a statement without giving price details.

The business class cabin will be configured with 12 seats finished in soft Italian leather with lumbar support and a seat pitch of 42 inches.

The in-flight entertainment system will offer a high definition touchscreen of 12.1 inches with over 900 hours of movies, music and games, the carrier said in a statement.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, said: "We are very pleased to announce the evolution of our passenger offering as we continue to meet the travel needs of our customers."

Business Class passengers will also benefit from having their own dedicated cabin crew. Travellers will be offered a selection of cold light food and accompaniments on short flights and the choice of a three-course meal from a specially designed Halal menu on flights of 90 minutes and above.

The carrier said that later this year, passengers will be able to relax in Flydubai's Business Class lounge ahead of their flight and will have access to priority baggage collection service.

The airline said it will also launch a new catering option for Economy Class customers in the near future.
