Dubai's Tristar wins UK road and safety awards

Logistics firm's safety standards recognised for a second year.

Dubai's Tristar Transport LLC will receive two road and safety awards in Birmingham, UK, on May 16 as winners of the 2013 RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety and the RoSPA Managing Occupational Road Risk Trophy.

This is the second consecutive year the Dubai-based company has been recognised for its safety standards by RoSPA which stands for Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. RoSPA’s mission is to save lives and reduce injuries. Last year, Tristar Group CEO Eugene Mayne received two similar RoSPA gold awards on May 17 in Birmingham, UK.

Dating back to 1956, the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running program of its kind in the UK. It recognizes commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organizations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas.

Tristar was established in 1998 in Dubai, UAE and is now a market leader in delivering integrated liquid logistics solutions to the petroleum and chemical industries. Its interests are in surface transport, ship owning and operating, specialized warehousing for lubricants and chemicals, fuel farms, turnkey fuel operations and into-plane aviation fuel services.

Today, the company has an extended footprint across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Haiti and the Pacific island of Guam. It employs more than 1800 people of various nationalities.
