Airline Amenity Bag Awards honour Mid East airlines
Etihad Airways, Emirates Airline and Qatar Airways were amongst the winners of this year’s Airline Amenity Bag Awards.
Winners were announced during a special ceremony in Hamburg last week to coincide with the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo and Aircraft Interiors.
The awards, which are organised by TravelPlus Media, attracted a large number of entrants from across the world, with a charge of US$138 for each submission from airlines and suppliers.
Etihad Airways won the award for ‘first-class male’ amenity bag, while Emirates Airline won in the ‘first-class female’ category and Qatar Airways was honoured in the ‘children under 6’ category.
Other winners included Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Virgin Australia, Turkish Airlines, Condor Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Finnair. Click here for the full list of winners.
“It’s estimated there are around 38,000 first-class seats available worldwide over any 24-hour period, and 68,000 business class,” states Simon Ward, founder of TravelPlus Media. “If each of those has an amenity bag, the marketing and commercial opportunities are huge.”
