Emirates Shipping Line has announced the launch of its Hyper Galex II service, providing direct port connections linking China, India and the Middle East.

Six vessels will serve Hyper Galex II, offering fast services between the rapidly growing trading and commercial centres in these booming economic regions. Emirates Shipping Line will provide three out of the six vessels of 2500 - 3100 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units, or standard container) size. ESL will be joined by OOCL and TS Line as vessel providing partners on this service.

This new service bolsters direct connection options for Middle Eastern companies importing goods from Qingdao and Bandar Abbas, as well as Colombo and Xingang. It will also open up the only direct route from Mundra into Northern China. The service will offer one of the best transit times between Northern China and Dubai.

"Hyper Galex II provides maximum direct coverage between North China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, to meet today's surging demand in this rapidly expanding region," said Vikas Khan, chairman and CEO of Emirates Shipping Line.

Port calls on the Hyper Galex II will include Shanghai, Qingdao, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, and Dubai.
