UAE's Jafza launches smartphone app

All Jafza's online services expected to be offered through app.

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) recently launched “JafzaSmart”, its first smartphone application for iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones.

JafzaSmart will enable Jafza customers to log onto their Dubai Trade account from their smartphones, making business transactions with Jafza easier. Jafza customers can follow the status of their service requests, request and pay for 23 different types of letters or renew their company’s Employment Card, all from their mobile.

With the launch of its new initiative, Jafza has further strengthened its existing online infrastructure. At present more than 90% of service requests delivered by Jafza are conducted online. Jafza is expected to make a large number of these services available through JafzaSmart during 2013.

Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi, deputy CEO of Jafza, said: “Over the past decade we have systematically worked to implement and facilitate adoption of our growing suite of eservice offerings and today over 90% of our customer transactions originate on the eServices portal. Our periodic quality checks also indicate that customers are increasingly satisfied with our e-services and their user-friendliness. The launch of JafzaSmart is one more step forward in enhancing our customer’s operational efficiency.”

This initiative is expected to make Jafza’s existing menu of a large number of online services available through smart phones, making Jafza one of the most e-friendly free zones.
