BA World Cargo delivers festive charity
BA World Cargo has delivered 1139 pairs of pyjamas to children across the globe in association with its trucking partner Forward Air.
Under the festive scheme, 'Operation Santa', the British carrier delivered the garments to shelters, orphanages and foster children worldwide. BA World Cargo collected pyjamas from 23 stations in the US and Canada before Forward Air transported them to Chicago.
From Chicago, the packages were then shipped to London using a BA freighter plane and finally arrived in Cape Town where they were collected Mzamomhle Orphan Project.
"We undertake Operation Santa every year and in the past have collected and shipped school materials and books to developing countries across the globe," said David Shepherd, vice president Americas, BA World Cargo.
"The Pyjama Programme is an extremely worthy cause - it makes a very real difference to children worldwide and is one with which we are proud to be associated," he added.
