Oman, India sign MoU to increase flights

Capacity to rise from 11,500 seats per week to 16,016 seats per week.

Oman and Indian have agreed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will increase the number of capacity on flights between the two countries, state-run Oman News Agency reported.

The MoU, signed by civil aviation authorities from both nations, will see the maximum capacity for each carrier rise from 11,500 seats per week to 16,016 seats per week.

The Sultanate’s national airline Oman Air will divide the new seats across 14 weekly flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai, and seven weekly services to Bangalore, Calicut, Jaipur, Kochi, Trivandrum and Lucknow, as well as six weekly flights to Goa.

Indian carriers will be able to use the additional rights from airports in the Subcontinent to Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport.
