Three UAE-based employees from DHL have earned the opportunity of a lifetime to trek to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, as part of Gulf for Good’s Trek to the Roof of Africa initiative.

Sandhya Rajan (sales support executive, Dubai) Imtiar Ur Rahman (courier Sharjah Service Station) Sarah Edge (NCC Account Manager, Dubai) will undertake the 5,895 metres hike.

The chance comes following a partnership between DHL and the local charity, as part of the express delivery expert’s global strategy to make a difference in the countries within which it operates.

Gulf for Good is renowned across the region for its great work, empowering people to challenge themselves in a new way, whilst raising money for children’s charities in the region where the challenge is held. In-line with this, DHL were offered three places for their employees to join the inspirational trek, due to take place on the July 6, as part of their sponsorship agreement.

Frank-Uwe Ungerer, Country Manager for DHL Express in the UAE, said: “There is great synergy between DHL and Gulf for Good’s brand values in that we are both dedicated to fostering a culture of volunteerism, and a commitment to helping people in needful communities. We were therefore delighted to be offered the chance for three of our own employees to directly take part in the challenge, and the number of entries is a fantastic indication of the real passion for helping good causes within our organisation.”
