DP World hosts government officials at Jebel Ali Port

Meeting held to find ways to enhance cooperation between two bodies.

DP World officials held talks with a key government official at the Jebel Ali Port last week, the firm announced.

HE Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, vice chairman, DP World, received Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director of general directorate of residency and foreigners affairs – Dubai.

The agenda for the meeting was to find ways to enhance cooperation between the General Directorate and DP World. The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Al Muallem (senior vice president and managing director DP World UAE Region) Mahmood Amin (CEO, world security and group security) Mohammed Ali Ahmed (COO, DP World UAE Region) and Mohammed Al Mannaei (director – Port Rashid, DP World, UAE Region).

Major General Al Marri and his accompanying delegation toured DP World’s port and inspected the technology-driven facilities, including the control room in the operations tower – which coordinates and controls the execution of all port activities, from vessel berthing to labour deployment.

HE Bin Thaniah, said: “DP World is keen to strengthen its strategic relations with the various governmental departments in the UAE and in Dubai, in order to serve the trade sector, the frontline driver of our economic development, and for the benefit of thousands of customers who use the facilities of Jebel Ali Port. We are honoured to receive Major General Al Marri and the accompanying delegation to Jebel Ali, the flagship port in DP World’s global portfolio.”

Major General Al Marri, added: “Managing and operating a port as large as Jebel Ali requires exceptional skills and support systems. We commend the achievements made by Emirati leaders at DP World through technology-driven efficiencies. It has played a pivotal role in the economic development of Dubai as envisioned by its leadership. We congratulate the management and staff of DP World for the sustained success of Jebel Ali Port.”
