flydubai gets Calogi's airline sales solution

UAE-based firm Calogi, operators of an online air cargo portal, has signed flydubai to its airline sales solution, c-Power.

The c-Power solution will enable flydubai, Dubai’s first low-cost airline, to conduct online courier and airfreight transactions with more than four hundred forwarding companies.

Calogi, effectively a Global Distribution System (GDS) for the air cargo industry, allows its customers to distribute their products to clients via the internet. This allows Calogi’s customers to sell their products through a complementary channel without competing with their own existing distribution mediums such as proprietary websites and sales teams.

Patrick Murray, head of Calogi worldwide cargo distribution channel, said: “flydubai, like Calogi, is a young, dynamic and fast-growing organisation. Joining forces with flydubai will enable us to leverage each other’s strengths.”

An array of services is offered by Calogi to support airlines and ground service agents with their online sales operations. These include export sales, rating, booking, global online access and visibility. The affordable portal is highly comprehensive, with a multitude of options including; flight schedule and space availability, shipment tracking and airway bill stock management.

 

While the chief executive officer of flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, added: “Capitalising on Dubai’s position as a trading hub combined with c-Power’s solution allows us to be well positioned to grow our cargo business.

“flydubai Cargo is focused on enabling businesses, including small enterprises, to transport their shipments quickly and efficiently across our network at affordable rates.”

flydubai Cargo’s customers will be able to utilise the Calogi portal to book cargo out of Dubai.
