Expeditors joins Lufthansa Cargo programme

Logistics company is the latest to join trade scheme.

Expeditors is the latest international freight forwarder to join Lufthansa Cargo's Global Partnership Programme.

The alliance, which has already attracted members such as Kuehne + Nagel, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and DHL Global Forwarding, aims to reduce transportation costs for each partner and encourage greater progress on issues affecting the airfreight industry, such as the automation of business processes.

"Both strategically and by virtue of their global market presence, Expeditors ideally matches the existing customer portfolio of our Global Partnership Programme," commented Dr Andreas Otto, board member for product and sales, Lufthansa Cargo.

"In cooperation with Expeditors, we expect to grow profitably by utilising synergies and offering end-customers appreciable added-value. In addition, by entering the programme, Expeditors will benefit from preferred access to aircraft capacity and reliance on Lufthansa Cargo's dedicated customer support team," he added.

Expeditors, which has Middle East offices in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Lebanon, is the 12th member of Lufthansa Cargo's Global Partnership Programme.

"With Lufthansa Cargo we have chosen a partner who is supplying us with extraordinary services and a truly global network. We are very much looking forward to working together as trustful and reliable partners," said Peter Rose, chairman and CEO of Expeditors.
