Jafza holds photo exhibition to mark 40th National Day

Free zone hosts cultural and traditional activities for businesses.

To celebrate the UAE’s 40 years of union, its success, growth and prosperity, Jafza inaugurated a special photo exhibition and competition themed ‘Al Etihad Panorama’ at the free zone today.

40 photographs that capture the passion and the energy of the nation are displayed in the lobby of Jafza 15 of which the Arab Union of Photographers will select the top three entrees for award.

Jafza has organised a series of cultural and traditional activities, aimed at engaging its 6,600-strong business community in the spirit of the unity that mark the National Day celebrations this year.

A special ‘Heritage Village’ has been set up for the occasion which will feature an assortment of activities including kiosks selling items made by Emirati families under the Forsati programme and people with special needs.

Traditional UAE arts and crafts demonstrations will also be held on the premises, alongside local women cooking ethnic Emirati food like Leqemat, Reqaq and Khemeer.

Members of the Jafza community including employees, customers and partners will be able to enjoy henna painting, falcon displays, camel riding and the traditional yola dance at the Heritage Village.

Jafza Buildings 14, 15, 16 and 17 will be adorned with festive lighting and draped with UAE national flags. Jafza is also organizing several competitions with special prizes awarded to ‘Best decorated free zone company’, ‘Best dressed male and female’, and ‘Best decorated car’.

Salma Hareb, CEO, Economic Zones World, parent company of Jafza, officially inaugurated the exhibition.

“Jafza’s National Day activities are a modest tribute and celebration of the achievements of this great nation and the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the two visionary founding fathers of the nation,” she said.

“The National Day provides Jafza and its community with an excellent opportunity to band together and promote the spirit of social solidarity that this occasion stands for. Our employees, customers and partners are important to us and we are happy to celebrate this joyous milestone with them,” she added.
