Port of Sohar to announce dry bulk terminal operator

A memorandum of understanding between the Omani Port of Sohar and an international logistics provider to operate the new dry bulk terminal has been signed, with an official accord expected by the end of the year, reports the Oman Daily Observer.

According to the news source, a bidder is also in advanced discussions with an Omani firm to jointly manage and operate the facility, which is designed to handle import and export cargoes.

The new terminal which is expected to increase annual capacity of dry bulk commodities in the region of six to 10 million tonnes, is set to become the first dedicated dry bulk terminal in the Sultanate.
