FedEx Express opens facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone
FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced the launch of its new 4459 square metre facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA).
The facility is expected to offer customers in the free zone greater connectivity to the FedEx global network and more convenience for their shipping requirements.
Established in 1985, JAFZA’s purpose as a facilitator of investment into Dubai has generated increasing traction over the years.
“FedEx Express recognises the strategic importance of Jebel Ali Free Zone and its long-term business opportunities,” said David Ross, senior vice president, operations, FedEx Express, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
“Given JAFZA’s growth potential, FedEx Express is in an excellent position to provide customers with the most flexible and reliable transportation solutions to match their complex shipping needs,” he added.
The benefits of the new FedEx facility includes; a next-business-day express service from JAFZA to the GCC, Europe and North America; a cold storage facility available for temperature-sensitive shipments; and six day per week (9 am to 7 pm) parcel pick up or drop off.
