One worker suffered minor injuries yesterday after a fire broke out in a warehouse in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, reports Gulf News.

The fire, which began yesterday morning, affected three warehouses before being brought quickly under control by Sharjah Civil Defence in co-operation with Ajman Civil Defence.

Brigadier General Abdullah Al Suwaidi, director-general of Sharjah Civil Defence, told Gulf News that the fire broke out at approximately 8.15am in three warehouses that contained cardboard materials and paper.

A cooling process was carried out during the rest of the day to prevent the fire from reigniting.

The financial damage caused by the fire is yet to be established.
