Saudia passengers protest over delayed flight
A protest was recently held by Saudi Arabian Airlines passengers at Cairo International Airport after their flight was delayed by more than five hours.
More than 400 passengers were booked on a Madinah-bound flight, with many of them travelling on Umrah visas, according to ArabNews.com.
The flight was scheduled to depart at 5pm and limited explanations were offered while the passengers waited in the departure lounge, the report added.
An announcement was eventually made that the aircraft would depart at 10.30pm, but 54 passengers refused to board and demanded compensation from the national carrier to highlight their anger at the situation.
After several hours of negotiations, the protesting passengers agreed to board the plane and the flight arrived in Madinah at 3.15am.
