Gulf Air introduces new cargo management system
Gulf Air has introduced a new cargo management system to enhance its global airfreight operations, while moving the carrier a step closer to introducing e-freight functionality later in the year.
Designed as a fully-integrated, end-to-end cargo management solution, ‘Cargospot’ will manage all aspects of the Bahrain airline’s cargo business, from bookings and pricing to sales and accounting.
“Cargospot is a key development at Gulf Air as we aim to aggressively expand our cargo operations as well as deliver a consistently better customer service and improved reliability. The new system is more user-friendly than our previous one. It will provide our customers with easier cargo bookings and planning capabilities, while for Gulf Air, we can respond quicker to customer’s requirements,” explained Rory Black, senior cargo manager at Gulf Air.
“In addition, because our size gives us more agility, and our unique advantage of operating the largest network in the Middle East, we can move shipments more rapidly than any other hub in the Gulf. This is a great business advantage for customers from Europe, North Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East wanting their cargo to reach both primary and secondary markets in the region and beyond,” he added.
