Increased demand for logistics professionals has led to the launch of Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus’ newest programme, the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Available from September, the programme based in the School of Management and Languages will provide both those with undergraduate qualifications and professionals already working in a relevant field with an understanding of current logistics practices, examining the benefits of these and exploring industry trends and current affairs.

The course is designed to help students carve out their own niche within the industry, with an emphasis on research and exploratory study.

“I am delighted to be working for such an esteemed university and to be tasked with helping students progress their careers in such a vital industry within the GCC. Logistics makes a significant impact on stakeholders from across Government, business and society,” said new Heriot-Watt MSc programme director, Carrie Annabi.

Given its proximity, the UAE provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain closer access to an industry that encompasses regular business from the likes of Africa, Asia and India.

The programme will include modules such as design and operation, freight transport and global purchasing and supply, as well as green logistics and supply chain improvements.
