UAE university boosts logistics talent pool
Heriot Watt University, Dubai, have announced Carrie Annabi as the new programme director of the Masters of Science (MSc) course in logistics and supply chain management.
Annabi, an experienced academic who has lectured in Dubai since 2009, has extensive international experience having previously worked in Cyprus, Finland, Qatar and Singapore.
“I am delighted to be lecturing in the MSc programme at Heriot Watt University Dubai. The logistics industry has been revolutionised over the past 30 years and is now regarded as a key determinant of business competitiveness. It’s very exciting to be part of this dynamic industry,” she said.
The programme, which commences in September 2011, examines current practices, trends and issues in logistics and supply chain management. It provides students with both specialist knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, and basic training in related business disciplines.
“This course will prepare students for an industry which drives the UAE economy. Graduates from Heriot Watt will be highly regarded by the logistics sector,” Annabi added.
Heriot Watt University has arranged a formal open day for prospective students of the new MSc programme at Academic City, Dubai, on Friday 10th June, between 4.00pm and 8.00pm, where they can meet Carrie and the academic and admissions staff to discuss new learning opportunities. A subsequent open day will be held on Friday 8th July, also from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.
