Green Aviation Logistics Group urges change
According to Members of Green Aviation Logistics Group Middle East (GALG ME), green logistics is pivotal to enhance efficiency and help generate stronger demand for the sector.
At the recent meeting held in Dubai, members of the group exchanged views on green logistics, discussing the possibility of achieving environmental objectives in synergy with other strategic and financial goals.
It was stressed that sustainable practices be adopted to enhance efficiency and help generate stronger demand for the industry.
A very simple example of green airport practices include using energy-efficient LCD screens on all computers and monitors, landscaping with native plants, installing low-flow toilets and replacing paper towel dispensers with electric hand dryers.
Dr Khaled Al Mazrouei, founding president of GALG ME, said that: “As one of the fastest growing sectors, it is imperative that green technologies are initiated and pursued for an environmentally sustainable logistics sector.”
