Calogi has added an online Charges Correction Advice (CCA) solution to the range of services on its regional cargo portal.

The feature has been developed in response to the air freight industry’s demand to speed up the settlement of amendments to air freight charges.

Prior to its implementation, the charges amendment and settlement process could take up to 5-6 months, according to a statement. With the new solution, it now takes between 1-14 days from raising the CCA to settlement of the dues, Calogi claims.

“Calogi is taking yet another giant leap forward in its quest to both remove paper from the air cargo supply chain and reduce the timeframe in which settlement takes place with this realtime CCA solution,” said Patrick Murray, Head of Calogi. “We have yet again expanded our ‘greenfreight’ air cargo supply chain environment and simplified the business model for both our airline and forwarder subscribers.”

The CCA solution has been introduced to 400+ Calogi subscribing companies at Dubai International and Dubai World Central airports, and is now available to Calogi customers in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Amman, Damman, Riyadh, Jeddah, Muscat, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Around 2000 CCAs have been processed through so far, with settlements totalling around US $500,000.
