Nominations open for Aviation Business Awards 2011

Fifth edition of prestigious awards scheduled for November 14.

Nominations are now for the Aviation Business Awards 2011.

Leading players from the Middle East aerospace industry will compete for honours at the awards, now in their fifth year and scheduled to take place on November 14.

The Aviation Business Awards are organised by ITP Business, publisher of Aviation Business magazine and

Around 15 categories will be contested this year, in categories covering the airline, airport, cargo and aviation services sectors.

“Since its inception in 2007, the Aviation Business Awards have emerged as a leading event for the Middle East aerospace industry,” said Fathi Hilal Buhazza, CEO of Maximus Air Cargo and founder of Care by Air, who sits on the panel in 2011.

“Given the market challenges that our sector is facing on a global level at the moment, this is a perfect opportunity to remember those companies and individuals that continue to achieve excellence on a daily basis

The winners are chosen by a carefully selected panel of judges. In addition to Fathi Hilal Buhazza, this year’s panel includes Abdul Wahab Teffaha (secretary general of Arab Air Carriers Organisation - AACO), Dr Khaled Al Mazrouei (chairman of Gulf Airport Services Association), Carol Ronan-Heath (founder of Middle East Aviation Women’s Network), Robeel Haq (senior group editor of Aviation Business magazine at ITP Business) and Issa Baluch (president of National Association of Freight and Logistics and board of directors at The International Air Cargo Association - TIACA).
