Ford to open parts distribution centre in Dubai
Ford Motor Company is planning to improve its delivery of vehicle service and repair parts to Middle East dealers with a new parts distribution centre in Dubai, which will be opened during the second half of 2011. The facility – measuring 29,500m2 in total – will be located in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
“The new facility will provide more efficient parts delivery to our dealers,” said Helmut Nittmann, global director of parts, supply and logistics at Ford Customer Service. “Dealer order-to-delivery time is expected to improve by 90%, considerably reducing the time customers will need to wait for parts.”
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics will operate Ford’s distribution centre in Dubai, employing approximately 100 people. The global 3PL has more than ten years of experience working in the Middle East and offers extensive expertise in automotive parts distribution.
“We are looking forward to entering into a long-lasting partnership with Ford Motor Company,” explained Jost Hellmann, one of the two managing owners of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. “We have vast experience in the warehousing and transportation of automotive spare parts, and most importantly, we share Ford’s commitment to quality, innovative solutions and strong dealer support.”
