Storm destroys planes at Beirut airport
Heavy storms destroyed up to four light planes and disrupted services at Lebanon’s Rafic Hariri International Airport over the weekend.
Advertising hoards also blew over at the airport, inflicting damage on parked cars.
Elsewhere in the country, road transportation was disrupted by the storms due to flying debris and low visibility.
The storms came after an unusually long spell of dry and warm Autumn weather.
The storms, accompanied by powerful winds, are continuing today (Sunday).
