An Emirates passenger has been accused of molesting a teenage girl on board a Dubai-bound flight, it has been reported.

During a recent appearance in court, the 36-year-old Indian blacksmith admitted to consuming liquor on the flight, but denied the accusation that he molested a 15-year-old Moroccan girl.

According to the charge sheet, the man touched the girl’s breast while pretending to open the window shutter, Gulf News reported.

"I consumed liquor… but I did not molest the girl. I am innocent on that count," the defendant was quoted as saying in a Gulf News report.

However, a Malaysian steward also appeared in court and stated the passenger had confessed to the accusations.

"The defendant admitted to me that he molested the girl and apologised for his wrongdoing… we kept him until police came and took him,” claimed the steward.

The case will reconvene in January to hear the girl’s statement and for the defendant to submit his defence.
