Dubai World Central (DWC) has signed a tenancy agreement with Al Futtaim Services Company, a company set up to provide general aviation services in the region.

Al Futtaim Services Company plans to enter a joint venture with DC Aviation, a business jet operator in Europe.

The joint venture will provide a range of aviation services, including business jet charters, aircraft maintenance and aircraft management, from a facility set to open in Q3 2011 at DWC.

The facility will host and service a variety of aircraft, including the Airbus Corporate Jet and Bombardier Global Express.

“The entry of the Al Futtaim Services Company into the general aviation segment is a key component of our long-term growth and expansion strategy,” said Omar Al Futtaim, vice chairman of Al Futtaim Group.

“We have carefully chosen a strong partner on our side. The long-term business relationship with DC Aviation assures us of a great prospect for this exciting project.

"The unique capabilities available at Dubai World Central are a perfect fit with our plans to become a leading aviation services operator in this young and dynamic region.”
