The crew of a Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 737 reported hearing gunshots on an approach to Karachi last week.

According to the Aviation Herald, the plane was one nautical mile (1 nm) east of the airport on its way from Multan when the incident took place.

The plane landed safely, the airport halted a pending departure and police were informed.

According to the report, the shots may have been fired at a nearby wedding celebration, a common tradition in Pakistan.
