Oman Air protects IT system with security software

Oman Air has purchased Symantec’s Security Information Manager (SSIM) to boost the security of its IT systems.

Global technology specialist 3i Infotech completed the implementation, which will allow the national carrier to create a documented process for security threat response, using data mining techniques, integrated log management and incident response system.

In response, Oman Air will be better equipped to detect a variety of online threats, such as malicious BOTS, WORMS and IP addresses, according to a press release..

“Effective solutions to ensure security in today’s IT-centric corporate world are of utmost importance. Symantec Security Information Manager has enabled Oman Air IT to consolidate all security and logging data from its critical enterprise nodes to a central repository,” stated Gerry Mitchell, Oman Air’s chief officer of information technology.

“It has helped in the automated collection of security data, analysis and delivery of compliance evidence and improved detection of multi layered attacks,” he added.
