Investigators at the Airblue crash site in Pakistan have discovered the flight’s data recorder; with hopes that the ‘black box’ will provide clues to Pakistan’s worst-ever air disaster.

The Airbus A321 crashed last week shortly before a scheduled landing at Islamabad airport, killing all 152 people on board.

The recorder has been sent overseas for analysis, according to a report by the AFP news agency.

"The investigating committee found the black box from the Margalla Hills this morning," Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority's director general Junaid Ameen told AFP news agency.

A day of national mourning was held on Thursday, and flags flew at half-mast across the country.
