Korean Air links up
Korean Air has been added to the list of companies using South Florida as a hub for business between Asia and Latin America.
South Korea's largest airline started a twice-a-week cargo service between Seoul and Miami at the end of last month. A variety of products, including cell phones and electronic appliances, are being fl own into Central and South America.
Chris Mangos, marketing manager for Miami International Airport, said: “This has created an unprecedented cargo logistics chain between Asia and Latin America that over time may serve as the preferred routing for merchandise travelling between the two global regions."
The new service comes as business groups and government agencies in South Florida expand their international outreach programmes beyond traditional markets in the United States, Europe and Japan.
