Egypt Air plane damaged on approach to Jeddah

Egypt Air has confirmed that the nose cone of a Boeing 777-200 was damaged on approach to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia this week, after a bird was struck by the aircraft.

Pilots were able to land the plane, which was travelling from Cairo with 224 passengers on board, according to a report in the Aviation Herald.

The Boeing 777-200 received a dent of about 10cm in radius in the nose cone and needed to be repaired before performing the return flight to Cairo.
