Asian carrier Cathay Pacific has extended its licence agreement with Unisys Australia for the Logistics Management System solution until 2012.

The suite of cargo applications enables Cathay to manage freight operations, including inventory control, bookings, warehouse operations and customs interfaces across its global network.

Cathay Pacific has used the Unisys solution since 1987.

"The Unisys passenger and logistics solutions are mission critical applications,” said W Y Chow, Cathay Pacific’s IT operations manager.

“In today's competitive aviation market and business environment, it is important to work with a partner like Unisys who understands our industry, the nature of our changing business and the need for system reliability and uptime to service our customers. The system availability provided by Unisys has exceeded our requirements," Chow added.
