Exclusive: DAE confirms finance deal for SkyCargo
DAE Capital has confirmed a US$500 million financing deal with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) to provide 10 aircraft to Emirates Airline and Garuda Indonesia.
The aircraft leasing firm has exclusively revealed to LogisticsMiddleEast.com that the deal includes two Boeing 777 freighters for Emirates SkyCargo, although it has not yet revealed when the aircraft will come into service.
The other aircraft are eight B737-800 passenger jets for the Indonesian flag-carrier.
“Operating lessors such as DAE are playing an increasingly important role as purchasers of U.S.-manufactured aircraft, and Ex-Im Bank's support for these transactions is a natural response to the changing market,” said Ex-Im Bank board member Bijan R. Kian.
“Aircraft exports supported by this financing will help to maintain jobs in the U.S. aerospace industry at Boeing, General Electric, CFM International Inc., and their many suppliers throughout the United States," Kian added.
